One of the most frequently asked questions from families and patients is where they can find ophthalmologists familiar with treating aniridia and related eye conditions.
This free resource gives patients a way to share knowledge with others about where to find nearby centers of excellence and health care providers more familiar with the challenges associated with aniridia. This easy-to-access tool for families will grow as the community populates it.
The crowdsourced map embedded below is easy to use and is intended to identify doctors with specific expertise with aniridia-related issues.
Instructions to Add an Eye Care Professional
The map is intended to identify doctors with whom you have had a positive experience, not doctors to avoid.
How to add a Doctor to the map:
1. Go to the Map of Aniridia Care Providers
2. To submit a doctor, click Crowdsourcing Form.
3. Fill out all required fields in the Google Form. Click Submit.
4. Once submitted, entries will be published on the map within 48 hours. Note that if a doctor submission is a duplicate of an already published entry, it will not be published.
Instructions to Search for an Eye Care Professional
How to search for a Doctor by area of expertise (e.g. cornea) and/or by state:
1. Go to the Map of Aniridia Care Providers
2. Under Filters on the right-hand side, select Area(s) of Expertise and/or State(s).
3. Click the blue Results box to see a list of professionals.
4. Click a specific professional’s name to see more information and a zoom-in view of the location on the map.
